Many ‘Doings’
As a friend replied a few days ago when I seemed anxious that many exhibit announcements were going by and I wasn’t ready, “You have many doings in work, Carolyn, and will get there “.
As an artist who works on long term projects, I sometimes feel forgotten as an active creative in the present time. Having allowed my blog and social media to lapse, I’m sure that some may be wondering if I am indeed at work with projects that will see the light of day. I can assure all that I am working toward two exciting projects series that I plan to propose for exhibition.

December is for Oddities
As the month of December bounces around my work schedule with preparations and the greater pleasures of family and friends, I finally relent from attempting to push a project ahead. Instead I take some days to care for my health and soak in the seasonal joys, like walking, going to craft fairs or teas, and visiting friends. But in between these activities, I do pop into the studio to add a touch here or there, revisit the progress, and fill in my time manager for the New Year.
Time To Get Serious
It has been a full and busy past spring and summer season of art work for me .I’m feeling good at what I have achieved although I did get behind with the bronze casting time which only occurs in the warm weather. With a box full of various wax pieces now waiting for cleanup and preparation for shelling, I’ve caught up with what I wanted done and can start the casting process in the first good days of spring.
Focus for the Next Season
Feeling Like Christmas Present Time
I said before that a change is good for the observation, reflection, and ego in the artist. By ego, I refer to the inner satisfaction from the creativity and the being of an artist’s soul. Having returned from a month long vacation in Australia soaking up the artistic landscape there, I have returned refreshed and eager to begin work carrying with me memory of wondrous artworks seen over there.
